How to get to London Heathrow Airport

By car:

From the M4: Take junction 4 for Heathrow Airport.

From M25: Use junction 14 for Terminal 5 or junction 15 for Terminals 2, 3, and 4.

By bus:

Heathrow Airport is well served by local buses from West and Central London. Terminals 2, 3 and 5 are best served by bus - though some services do call at Terminal 4.

Buses to Heathrow run from Greenford, Uxbridge, Kingston, Ruislip, Southall, Richmond and Hayes and Harlington Stations.

Superloop routes run from West Croydon and Harrow.

Hotel Hoppa:

Hotel Hoppas run from nearby hotels directly to Heathrow airport.

By coach:

Multiple national coach operators have routes to and from Heathrow, including: National Express, megabus, RailAir and Flixbus.

By train / tube:

The Piccadilly and Elizabeth lines stop at Heathrow Airport. There's also the Heathrow Express from London Paddington, which runs every 15 minutes.
Parking at Heathrow Airport

Each Terminal has its own car parks, categorised as:

Short Stay Parking:

Just a couple of minutes' walk from the Terminal. Best for shorter trips. It costs £88 per day.

Long Stay Parking:

Shuttle buses run between the long stay car parks every 10-15 minutes.

Off peak, the first day costs £39.50 and every following day costs £31.80.

On peak, the first day costs £45.30 and every following day costs £36.20.

Business: Only at Terminals 2,3 and 5.

Park directly at the airfield perimeter to save time. Business-class shuttles run on demand, with a maximum wait time of 10 minutes. It costs £44.80.

Meet & Greet: Simply drop off your car at the short stay car park and the staff will handle the rest.

POD Parking at Terminal 5: Pre-book online, park in the dedicated car park and get zoomed to the Terminal in just 6 minutes via a driverless, electric pod. It costs £55.70 per day.

Valet parking: Pull up, jump out, grab your luggage and let your trip begin. Then, come home to a squeaky clean car. It costs £133.90 for the first day, with pricing charges decreasing for each additional day.
Can I drop off / collect passengers for free?

Yes, in the long stay car park of the Terminal, you can park for 29 minutes for free. Don't expect to travel to the Terminal with the passengers though, as the long stay car parks are 5-120 minutes away by shuttle bus.
Is there a smoking area?

You can only smoke or vape outside the Terminals. Once you pass through the security, there's no way to vape or light up.
How long do I need to be at Heathrow before my flight?

You can never be at the airport too early! That's what we always say, anyway. It just means you have more time for cocktails and duty-free. Fine by us! Seriously though, you should ideally check in at Heathrow Airport at least two hours before departure if you're flying domestically or within Europe. Flying further afield? You'll wanna extend that to at least 3 hours before your flight departs.
Heathrow Airport lounges

Yes, terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 all have their own lounges where you can freshen up and relax with a couple of bevs before your flight.

In Terminals 2 and 4 it's the Plaza Premium Lounge. Open from 5am til 9pm every day, there's hot and cold food and meals available (obvs!) There's plenty of space to rest too - you can even hire out a private suite for a cat nap. Prices start from £40pp - or get free access when you choose a Business or First Class flight.

In Terminals 3 and 5 you can access the Club Aspire lounge, winner of 'World's Leading Airport Lounge'. Oooh! Sip a complimentary drink as the planes (and the time!) fly by, or take your pick of the free snacks and digital reading materials. It can all be yours from £34.99pp in Terminal 3 or £39.99 in Terminal 5, where you can also grab a shower, for a fee.
What facilities are available?

Being one of the biggest airports in the world, the facilities at Heathrow Airport are... extensive, to say the least! We won't get into all of them here (you'd probs make it to Thailand before you got through it all) but here's its highlights reel:

Shopping
Erring on the designer side (when in London and all that), there's more luxury goods than you can shake your boarding pass at. You don't need to worry about fitting them in your hand luggage either, as you can leave your items to collect on your return flight, or even get them delivered to your house. La-di-da indeed. We're talking Apple, Acqua di Palma, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bulgari, Chanel, Dior Diptyque - and that's only A - C!

It's not all about the luxury though, there's plenty of the more bog-standard stuff here if you're just after a good meal deal and not a Mulberry bag - WHSmiths, John Lewis, and Dixons are all here too. A note, though - if you've got your eyes on the top stuff, you'll have the best shopping experience in the newer, bigger Terminal 5.

Restaurants
Whether you want to grab a quick bite or indulge in a gourmet experience, Heathrow's got you covered. Plus, in participating restaurants, Kids Eat Free during the school holidays when an adult pays - nice one.

In T2 and T3 you'll have your pick of places like YO! Sushi, Shan Shui, Pret A Manger, Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen, and LEON.

Meanwhile, in T4 you've got a Wetherspoon, Prince of Wales, Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar, Pret, and The Commission.

T5 is where you'll find Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food, Wagamama, Pret, Giraffe, The Globe, Itsu, and more.
